How to Fix a Suspended Google Business Profile in Nepal

Local SEO

If your Google Business Profile has been suspended, do not create a new listing or submit the same appeal again and again. First find the policy problem, fix it, prepare proof that your business is real, and then use Google’s official appeal process.

For Nepali businesses, a Google Business Profile suspension can mean losing visibility on Google Search and Google Maps when customers are looking for your business.

A restaurant in Kathmandu, a dental clinic in Lalitpur, a hotel in Pokhara, a travel agency in Thamel, or a home service business in Bhaktapur can all depend on Google for local enquiries.

The good news is that a suspension does not always mean your business is gone forever.

The important part is how you respond to it.

At Maathi, we treat a suspension as a diagnosis problem first.

Before we touch the profile, we ask:

Why was it suspended?

What Google policy could be involved?

Does the business actually qualify?

Does the profile represent the real business?

What evidence can prove that?

Only after these questions are clear should you submit an appeal.

What Is a Google Business Profile Suspension?

A Google Business Profile suspension means Google has taken action because the profile or the account managing it does not meet its Business Profile rules.

Google says it may suspend or disable profiles that do not follow its guidelines. If you believe the profile should be restored, you can submit an appeal.

When a profile is suspended, the public may no longer be able to access the profile.

This is different from a profile that is simply ranking poorly.

Suspension

Your profile has been restricted by Google.

Poor ranking

Your profile is live, but competitors appear above you.

Verification problem

Google has not fully verified the business or wants you to verify it again.

Pending edit

Google is reviewing a change you made.

These problems can look similar to a business owner.

They are not the same problem.

Why Was My Google Business Profile Suspended?

Google does not give one universal list of triggers for every suspension.

Instead, the profile is checked against its Business Profile policies.

The most common areas we would investigate are:

  1. Business name problems
  2. Address problems
  3. Service area problems
  4. Duplicate profiles
  5. Business eligibility
  6. Incorrect business category
  7. Business information that does not represent the real business
  8. Virtual office or unsupported location
  9. Account restrictions
  10. Major changes that caused Google to review the profile
  11. Other policy violations

The right approach is not to guess.

Find the policy issue first.

Step 1: Read the Suspension Message Carefully

Start with the message Google gives you.

Sign into the Google Account that manages the profile.

Open your Business Profile and look for the suspension notice.

Google’s appeal tool can show the restricted profile, the reason for the moderation action and a link to the policy involved.

The wording matters.

You may see terms related to:

Deceptive content

Quality issues

Policy violation

Account restriction

Verification

Eligibility

Do not ignore the reason.

It gives you the starting point for your investigation.

Screenshot everything

Before making changes, save:

  1. Suspension message
  2. Business Profile details
  3. Business name
  4. Address
  5. Phone number
  6. Category
  7. Website
  8. Service area
  9. Google Maps URL
  10. Previous public profile screenshots
  11. Important emails from Google

This creates a record of what happened.

Step 2: Check Whether the Business Is Actually Eligible

This is one of the most important checks.

Google says a business must normally make in person contact with customers during its stated hours to qualify for a Business Profile.

That means an online only business cannot simply create a Google Business Profile because it wants to rank in Google Maps.

Examples of businesses that may qualify

A:

• Restaurant in Kathmandu

• Dental clinic in Lalitpur

• Hotel in Pokhara

• Travel agency with a real customer facing office

• Salon in Bhaktapur

• Retail store in Chitwan

• Plumber who travels to customers

• Cleaning company that visits customer locations

Businesses that may not qualify

Google lists examples such as:

• Online only businesses

• Lead generation companies

• Businesses that do not make in person contact with customers

• Certain rental properties

• Businesses operating from locations they do not have authority to represent

Google’s eligibility rules are more important than whether you have a registered company or website.

Having a PAN, company registration or website does not automatically make an online only business eligible for a Google Business Profile.

Step 3: Check Your Business Name

Your Business Profile name should represent the real world name of your business.

This is one of the biggest mistakes we would check for during a suspension audit.

Suppose your real business is:

Maathi

But the Google profile says:

Maathi Best Digital Marketing Agency in Kathmandu Nepal

That may be a problem if those extra words are not part of the real world business name.

Google says unnecessary information in the Business Profile name is not allowed and can result in suspension.

Your business name should match how customers know you

Check:

• Storefront signage

• Website

• Business documents

• Business cards

• Invoices

• Other real world branding

Do not use the Business Profile name as an SEO keyword field.

Bad example

Best Dentist Kathmandu | ABC Dental Clinic | Cheap Dental Care

Better

ABC Dental Clinic

Put services, categories and location information in the correct fields.

Step 4: Check Your Business Address

Your address must represent a real business location.

Google says a Business Profile should use an accurate physical location. PO boxes and remote mailboxes are not acceptable as business locations.

This is especially important in Nepal because many small businesses work from:

• Home offices

• Shared offices

• Coworking spaces

• Virtual offices

• Rented rooms

• Serviced offices

These situations need to be checked carefully.

Virtual office problem

A virtual office is not automatically a valid Google Business Profile location.

Google says a rented physical postal address where the business does not actually operate is not eligible.

A coworking office can qualify only when the business has the required real presence, including clear signage, customer access during opening hours and staff from the business present there.

So do not rent an address in Kathmandu simply because you want to rank for:

digital marketing agency Kathmandu

That is not a safe local SEO strategy.

Step 5: Check Whether You Are a Storefront, Service Area Business or Hybrid

This is a major suspension check.

There are three common situations.

Storefront business

Customers visit your business location.

Example:

Restaurant in Thamel

The business can show its physical address if it meets Google’s requirements.

Service area business

The business travels to customers.

Example:

Home cleaning company in Kathmandu

If customers do not visit the business location, Google says the address should be removed from the profile and the service area should be used instead.

Hybrid business

The business serves customers at its location and also travels to customers.

Example:

Auto repair shop with roadside service

Google allows eligible hybrid businesses to show their address and set a service area.

Step 6: Check Your Service Area

If you are a service area business, do not simply select every major city in Nepal.

Google says service area businesses can set up to 20 service areas.

It also says the overall service area should generally not extend more than about two hours of driving time from the business base, although Google notes that larger areas can be appropriate for some businesses.

Example

A home cleaning company based in Kathmandu might serve:

Kathmandu

Lalitpur

Bhaktapur

That makes sense if those are real service areas.

But creating a profile in Kathmandu and claiming service areas across the entire country without a real operating reason can create problems.

More locations do not automatically mean more local rankings.

Step 7: Look for Duplicate Google Business Profiles

Search Google Maps for:

Business Name

Then try:

Business Name + City

Then:

Business Name + Address

Look for:

• Old listings

• New listings

• Duplicate listings

• Listings controlled by former employees

• Listings created by another agency

• Listings created after a business move

Google says there should generally be only one Business Profile per business. Multiple profiles can cause problems with how business information appears on Search and Maps.

Do not create a new profile after suspension

This is one of the worst reactions to a suspension.

Google specifically tells businesses not to create a new Business Profile for the same business while an appeal is under review.

You may think:

“I will just start again.”

That can create a duplicate problem on top of the original problem.

Fix the original profile first.

Step 8: Check Your Primary Category

Your category tells Google what your business actually is.

Google says businesses should use as few categories as possible and choose categories that accurately describe the core business. Categories should describe what the business is, not every service or feature it has.

Example

If you operate a dental clinic, your main category should represent the dental clinic.

Do not select unrelated categories simply because they have search demand.

Common mistake

A business chooses:

Digital Marketing Agency

then adds many unrelated categories because it wants to rank for:

• SEO

• Website design

• Social media

• Google Ads

• Training

• Branding

Categories are not a keyword list.

Choose the categories that accurately represent the business.

Step 9: Check Your Website and Business Information

Google can use information from your website and other sources to understand a business.

That means your Google Business Profile should not tell one story while your website tells another.

Check:

Business name

Does it match?

Address

Does it match the real location?

Phone

Is it a real business number?

Website

Does the website clearly represent the business?

Services

Do they match what you actually offer?

Location

Does the website support the location shown on Google?

About page

Does it clearly explain the business?

Contact page

Does it show accurate business information?

This does not mean every difference between your website and Google automatically causes a suspension.

It means you should remove obvious contradictions before appealing.

Step 10: Prepare Your Evidence Before Appealing

This is where many businesses make a mistake.

They click Appeal first.

Then they start looking for documents.

Do the opposite.

Prepare the evidence first.

Google says evidence that can help support an appeal can include:

• Official business registration

• Business licence

• Tax certificates

• Utility bills

Google gives examples such as electricity, phone, water and internet bills. Google also advises that the business name and address on submitted documents should match the profile being appealed.

Evidence for a Nepali business

Depending on your business, useful documents may include:

Business identity

• Company registration documents

• Relevant business registration

• PAN or tax documents

• Business licence

Location

• Electricity bill

• Internet bill

• Water bill

• Lease document

• Other genuine proof connected to the business location

Real world proof

For a storefront business, also prepare:

• Exterior photos

• Business signboard

• Entrance

• Interior

• Reception area

• Office equipment

• Branded materials

For a service business, prepare proof that shows how and where the business actually operates.

Do not create or edit documents to make them fit the profile.

The evidence should prove the real business.

A Simple Evidence Checklist for Nepali Businesses

Before appealing, create a folder.

Folder 01

Business Registration

Folder 02

Tax Documents

Folder 03

Address Proof

Folder 04

Business Photos

Folder 05

Website and Branding

Folder 06

Google Screenshots

Folder 07

Previous Google Emails

This makes the appeal process much easier.

Step 11: Submit the Official Google Appeal

Nepal is outside the UK and European Economic Area.

Google’s current documentation says businesses outside the UK and EEA can use the Google Business Profile appeals tool for suspended or disabled profiles.

Use Google’s official process rather than a third party claiming to have a secret Google contact.

Google Business Profile Appeals and Suspension Help

The basic process

  1. Sign into the Google Account connected to the profile.
  2. Open the official appeals tool.
  3. Select the suspended Business Profile.
  4. Review the policy reason shown.
  5. Submit the appeal.
  6. If Google offers an evidence form, upload your supporting documents.
  7. Submit the evidence within the required time.

Google currently says that if the evidence form opens after the appeal, you have 60 minutes to submit the evidence or it will not be attached to the appeal.

That is why you should prepare your documents before starting.

How Long Does a Google Business Profile Appeal Take?

Google says appeal reviews and decisions can take up to 5 business days.

That is the official timeframe Google gives.

Real world cases can take longer.

Recent 2026 Google Business Profile Community cases show profiles remaining in processing after an approved appeal, sometimes well beyond the expected period. One February 2026 community case reported a profile remaining in processing for more than three weeks after approval, with a Product Expert noting that Google was investigating the issue.

Another recent 2026 user report described a profile that remained suspended in the dashboard for more than a week after Google had sent a reinstatement confirmation. This is a user report, not an official Google timeframe.

So do not promise a client:

“Google will restore it in exactly five days.”

The accurate statement is:

Google says appeal decisions can take up to five business days, but individual cases can take longer.

What If Google Rejects Your Appeal?

Do not immediately submit the same appeal again.

First ask:

What did I fail to prove?

Go back through:

  1. Eligibility
  2. Business name
  3. Address
  4. Service area
  5. Category
  6. Duplicate listings
  7. Website
  8. Business documents
  9. Account access
  10. Google policy

Google says that after a denied reinstatement request, you may be able to request an additional review and provide evidence that was not included with the original appeal.

This is very different from sending the same explanation again.

Bad approach

“My business is real. Please restore my profile.”

Better approach

“Our profile was suspended under [policy]. We reviewed the policy and corrected [specific issue]. Our real world business name is [name]. Our operating location is [location]. The attached registration and utility document support the business identity and address shown on the profile.”

Keep it factual.

Keep it short.

Show evidence.

What If Your Google Account Is Restricted?

This is an important issue that many business owners miss.

Sometimes the problem is not only the Business Profile.

The Google Account managing the profile can also be restricted.

Google says that when an account is restricted, Business Profiles managed by that account can also be suspended, and the account restriction must be addressed before the profile suspension can be resolved.

This matters for agencies.

For example, imagine an agency manages:

• Client A

• Client B

• Client C

• Client D

If the agency’s Google Account faces a Business Profile restriction, several client profiles can be affected.

That is why account ownership and access should be handled carefully.

Maathi’s Recommendation for Agencies

Do not keep every client’s Google Business Profile under one personal Gmail account.

Use proper business ownership structures.

Give the client appropriate ownership or management access.

Keep documentation for each client.

Record:

• Business name

• Address

• Phone

• Website

• Business Profile URL

• Profile ID

• Owner account

• Manager accounts

• Verification status

• Important Google emails

This makes recovery much easier if something goes wrong.

What If Google Asks for More Verification?

This can happen.

Google says verification methods are automatically determined and depend on factors such as business type, public information, region and business hours. Businesses may sometimes need more than one verification method.

Google may ask for additional verification after an appeal.

Recent 2026 community reports also show cases where suspended profiles moved into another verification stage after an appeal. These reports show that the process can vary between cases, so do not assume that submitting documents guarantees immediate reinstatement.

If Google asks for video verification, follow the instructions Google provides.

For a physical business, your verification evidence should clearly show the real business location and your connection to the business.

What About Reviews After Reinstatement?

This is an important 2026 issue.

A profile can be reinstated while some profile content is still missing or delayed.

Recent 2026 user reports describe reviews disappearing after reinstatement and later being partially restored after support cases.

Do not immediately assume that every missing review means you need another suspension appeal.

Treat it as a separate problem.

Keep:

• Screenshots of your previous review count

• Old emails

• Business Profile ID

• Reinstatement email

• Support case number

Then contact Google Business Profile support if reviews do not return.

This is an area where we should be honest with clients.

Reinstatement and review recovery are not necessarily the same issue.

10 Things You Should Never Do After a Suspension

1. Do not create another profile

Fix the existing profile.

2. Do not stuff keywords into your business name

Use the real world business name.

3. Do not use a fake address

A fake location can create a much bigger problem.

4. Do not buy a virtual office only for Google Maps

A virtual office does not automatically qualify.

5. Do not create profiles for every city

A service area does not mean you can create a profile in every city.

6. Do not submit fake documents

Your evidence must be genuine.

7. Do not submit the same appeal repeatedly

Google specifically advises against multiple appeals for the same issue before a decision.

8. Do not promise guaranteed reinstatement

No agency can honestly guarantee that Google will approve an appeal.

9. Do not blame NAP alone

Name, address and phone consistency matter, but a suspension needs a wider policy and eligibility review.

10. Do not treat suspension as a normal SEO problem

More blog posts will not fix a suspended profile.

First solve the profile issue.

Then work on rankings.

A Realistic Example: Kathmandu Digital Marketing Agency

Imagine a digital marketing agency in Kathmandu has its profile suspended.

The owner says:

“We have a registered company, website, PAN and office. Why did Google suspend us?”

Having those documents is useful.

But we still need to check the whole profile.

Check 1

Does the Business Profile name match the real agency name?

Check 2

Does the address represent a real office?

Check 3

Can customers meet the agency there?

Check 4

Is there permanent signage if the address is shown?

Check 5

Is the office a virtual or coworking space?

Check 6

Is another Google Business Profile already using the same location?

Check 7

Is the business category accurate?

Check 8

Does the website clearly represent the same business?

Check 9

Is the phone number connected to the business?

Check 10

Is the Google Account itself restricted?

Only after checking these questions should the agency appeal.

This is how Maathi would approach the problem.

Not:

“Let’s click appeal and hope.”

But:

“Let’s understand why Google took the action and build the evidence around that issue.”

A Realistic Example: Kathmandu Service Area Business

Now consider a home repair company.

It has no customer facing office.

The owner works from home and travels to customers.

The profile shows a home address publicly.

The business also lists:

Kathmandu

Pokhara

Chitwan

Biratnagar

Butwal

Dharan

as service areas.

This profile needs a different audit.

The owner may need to:

  1. Use the correct service area setup.
  2. Hide the address if customers do not visit it.
  3. Remove service areas that are not genuinely served.
  4. Avoid creating separate city profiles.
  5. Ensure the business name is accurate.
  6. Prepare proof of the real business.
  7. Then appeal.

Google specifically says service area businesses that do not serve customers at their address should remove the address and use service areas.

How Maathi Would Handle a Suspended Google Business Profile

At Maathi, we would divide the work into four stages.

Stage 1: Diagnose

We check:

Eligibility

Suspension reason

Business information

Location

Service area

Duplicate profiles

Account access

Website

Google policy

Stage 2: Correct

We identify the issues that need fixing.

For example:

Wrong business name

Change it to the real world name.

Wrong location

Correct the location setup.

Fake service area

Remove unsupported locations.

Duplicate profile

Investigate the correct profile instead of creating another one.

Wrong category

Select a category that accurately represents the business.

Stage 3: Build Evidence

We organise the available proof.

Business identity

Location

Tax information

Utility information

Real world photos

Website

Google profile details

The goal is simple:

Make it easy for Google to understand that the profile represents a real eligible business.

Stage 4: Appeal and Monitor

We submit through Google’s official process.

Then we monitor:

• Appeal status

• Google emails

• Verification requests

• Profile status

• Public visibility

• Reviews

• Business information

We do not repeatedly submit appeals while waiting.

Can an SEO Agency Guarantee Google Business Profile Reinstatement?

No.

Be careful with any agency that says:

“100% Google suspension recovery guaranteed.”

Google makes the final decision.

An agency can:

• Audit the profile

• Find likely policy problems

• Correct business information

• Organise evidence

• Prepare the appeal

• Help with verification

• Monitor the process

But nobody outside Google controls the final reinstatement decision.

This is why Maathi’s promise should be about the quality of the process, not a fake guarantee.

What Happens After Your Profile Is Reinstated?

Do not immediately start changing everything again.

First confirm:

Public visibility

Can customers find it?

Google Maps

Does it appear?

Business information

Is the name correct?

Address

Is the correct location shown?

Phone

Does it work?

Website

Does it point to the right page?

Reviews

Are they visible?

Services

Are they still present?

Categories

Are they correct?

Create a screenshot record of the restored profile.

Then start improving local SEO.

Suspension Recovery Is Not Local SEO

This distinction matters.

A suspended profile needs:

Policy compliance + evidence + appeal

A live profile that ranks poorly needs:

Local SEO + relevance + prominence + website optimisation + reputation

These are different services.

If your profile is suspended, spending money on:

“Google Maps ranking packages”

is probably the wrong first move.

Get the profile healthy first.

Then work on rankings.

After Reinstatement: Build a Stronger Local Presence

Once the profile is live, Maathi can then work on the wider local search system.

That can include:

Google Business Profile

• Categories

• Services

• Photos

• Reviews

• Business information

Website

• Location pages

• Service pages

• Local landing pages

• Internal linking

• Technical SEO

• Structured data

Local authority

• Relevant citations

• Local mentions

• Relevant links

• Brand references

Conversion

• Calls

• Directions

• WhatsApp enquiries

• Forms

• Website visits

The goal is not simply to make the profile live.

The goal is to turn local search visibility into real business enquiries.

Why This Matters for Nepali Businesses

Many Nepali businesses still treat Google Maps as a simple business directory.

It is much more useful than that.

A customer searching:

dentist near me

restaurant in Kathmandu

travel agency Kathmandu

hotel in Pokhara

digital marketing agency Nepal

is already showing some level of commercial intent.

If your business is not visible because your profile is suspended, you lose an important discovery channel.

That is why a suspension should be treated seriously.

But it should also be handled carefully.

One bad decision can turn one problem into three:

  • Suspension
  • Duplicate profile
  • Policy violation

Avoid that.

Final Answer: How to Fix a Suspended Google Business Profile in Nepal

The correct process is:

1. Read the suspension reason

2. Check business eligibility

3. Review the Google Business Profile guidelines

4. Check your business name

5. Check your address

6. Check your service area

7. Check for duplicate profiles

8. Check your category

9. Check your website and business information

10. Check whether your Google Account is restricted

11. Prepare genuine business evidence

12. Submit the official appeal

13. Submit evidence within the required time

14. Wait for the decision

15. If denied, correct the problem and use the additional review option if available

16. After reinstatement, check the public profile before making further changes

Google currently says appeal decisions can take up to five business days, but real cases can take longer. Do not create another profile while the appeal is being reviewed.
